President Corazon Cojuangco Aquino died at 76

I am not one of the Aquinos... not a family friend nor related in any way to them but I felt sad when I heard that our former President, icon of democracy, Corazon Cojuangco Aquino died due to Cardio Respiratory Arrest.

Cory gained her popularity when she lead us, Filipinos, to fight for the dictator government of Marcos. She stood up in Edsa Shrine and willfully accepted a responsibility she never thought of having and guided us in a way a very protected mother guides her children. We may not be from her own blood but she treated her fellowmen in every most possible and courageous way.

President Aquino belongs to one of the most affluent and rich family in the Philippines but she stayed simple and approachable. In all her videos and documentaries, I have never seen Mrs. Aquino to boast of her wealth and power. She became the most powerful woman but she never use her power in some way that would harm her people. But instead, she built a government that will rule by not just herself and her interest but by the constitution of the people. She gave us the greatest gifts that any nation would like to achieved: People Power and Moral Leadership.

In the past few weeks of July, Cory has been all over the news as her Colon Cancer is getting worst. After few days, special messages, yellow ribbons, and pictures of the great president is scattered all over town. This just proves that she is a President loved by the people.

To you Madame President, Icon of Democracy, Corazon Aquino, your legacy will never be forgotten.

In the coming Fall/Winter 2009/2010, David Beckham have collaborated with the Adidas Originals owner, James Bond to design a collection for men. Marathon TR Mid is one of the shoes to be released on this much awaited collection. It features a waterproof GORE-TEX upper, reflective 3 stripes tape, a hidden zip pocket on the tongue and a grey blue upper. The collection will be available in October.

Lacoste Online Sale

Last Sunday morning, I got an email from Lacoste that they just slashed off additional 25% off from their current on-sale items. You can't just imagine how I feel the moment I saw the email. I've been struggling so much for my team's target and when I saw the email, it gives smile on my face and can't wait to go home to place my orders.

I was planning to buy something for myself, of course, on Lacoste Online Store since I got back from HK. I decided to wait until I paid of all my credit card bills so that it won't add up to my burden. Since Lacoste won't ship out items to the third world country, I've contacted my Aunt in California and told her that I'll be sending over my online purchases there and she'll manage to ship those out to me. She agreed as she will be sending something to me since she forgot the chocolates I bought last November when I was there. Here's what I have in mind on my way home:

God knows how long I've stayed online at their store deciding which one to get. I might be jobless in the next coming months due to not meeting my target so I've settled myself with the above shirts and jacket. As usual, before you go on checking out for payment, it will ask you the normal stuffs like shipping address, if it will be a gift, credit card number and expiration date. As soon as I reached the last step, it was asking for my billing address. I scanned over the States and Country section but Philippines is nowhere to be found!

I was like, WTF!? Why can't I use my home address as billing address? I've done online purchases a number of times but what happened now? It gives me so much pain and headaches that after all these days of thinking what to buy for myself, it will just turn out to be a total disaster! I reached for my phone to contact my aunt in California to ask her to buy the stuffs I wanted and I'll just send her my payment but it dawned on me that maybe it's really not for me. Maybe I was destined to save for my future. Maybe it would be better to buy it myself in the US (since HK doesn't carry my size after all!). Well, that gives me hope... gives my smile back on my face... until my eyes closes.

I over slept with my clothes and shoes on. I totally forgot my plans of visiting my cousin in the hospital, watching Harry Potter and Ice Age at the Mall. I woke up at around 6PM where my nephew was knocking on my door.

Birthday 2009 - Part 1 (Blue Day)

I can feel the breeze of August and my most awaited month, July will come to an end... July is my month and I've been thinking of a way to celebrate my birthday since last year. Parties are not my thing since I don't want anyone to lay their attentions on me. So when Cebu Pacific had a promo last April, I decided to scrap out another entry on my bucket list and head out of the country and celebrate my birthday in Hongkong!

I've been to Hongkong a couple of times and I just can't get enough of the City. The lights, streets, the shops, subway, the food.. I love almost everything in HK. It's second on my list of favorite places I've been to. Well New York is at the top since I've never been to Paris.

So after telling my dad that I'll be attending a conference in Davao (on my birthday), I packed my things up and fly with my friend, Cee to the City of Summer Sale!

I always prefer Adidas over Nike as I think Adidas is so classic and simple... its like the shoes for a simple person like me. Adidas works with everything! Why not? Scott Schuman has done some photoshoot in Berlin City as he partnered with Milk China to help promote the Five-Two 3 Project. The shoot features iconic Berlin streets with some fashionable Adidas tracks and simple pair of Samba. Milk China will publish the photos on August 1.

After a little chit chat with my friends in the office, I decided to go home right away before the sun completely shines in the City. As usual, I hailed a cab and told him my destination. As I was enjoying the stretch of Commonwealth with a gloomy weather, cold AC system, Cream-O (Thanks Myreen), and Katy Perry on my iPod, the driver just suddenly opens the window on his left and spit out. It's like ok for me since that's what drivers do but after few seconds, he took his face towel and tried to wipe out something on the glass window. At first I thought he was just trying to wipe out something.. may be a few drop of his saliva but to my surprise... LO and BEHOLD!

I was like, Gross! Good thing I'm on my second Cream-O and almost ate half of it.

Steve Madden sues eBay over FAKE watches

First it was L'Oreal then followed by Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH) and now its Steve Madden.

Ebay is facing yet another lawsuit for showcasing counterfeited items again on their website. Steve Madden claims that Ebay is selling fake watches on their online marketplace which remains to be on their website after Steve Madden sent a letter ordering the online store to remove the fake items online.

Just last year, eBay was also sued by Tifanny and Co. for allowing its users to sell fake T&Co jewelries online. However, eBay prevailed and ruled out Tifanny's assertion that eBay did not do enough to thwart counterfeiters. Steve Madden may have a strong case as they have told eBay that all watches are fake while on Tifanny's case, some are authentic.

Only LVMH have won a $63 Million trial over eBay. Will Steve Madden second that?

Best Dressed Traveler - Victoria Beckham

This is the reason why I love her!

She can werk any outfit at anytime and any place!

I rode number of airplanes before. Be it A320, A330, Boeing 747, DC9 or whatever Cebu Pacific and Asian Spirit is using to their flights, but I have not looked like as good as Victoria Beckham at the airport! Don't get me wrong. I do not, by all means, wish to wear high-waisted slacks with a polka-dot shirt, suede platform boots and matching bag but at least look presentable instead of the normal jeans and my fancy Lacoste Classic Pique Shirt.

She is so chic. Who could imagine that the outfit is so unexpected for this season but yet, look like you've just arrived at the Hamptons?

Liquidated Logo Artist, arrested

What if your means of popularity pulls you down to poverty?

This is most likely what will happen to Zev, a French young artist who is currently presenting a solo exhibition of his works at the Arts Statements Gallery in Hongkong, after the liquified Chanel logo is impossible to be wiped out at the Armani Building in Hongkong.

And with this incident, the Administration of the Giorgio Armani Building has laid a HKD 6.7 Million to the young artist and accused him for vandalism. Giorgio Armani Flagship hires professionals to clean out the painting but due to the sandstone facade, they are unable to remove the paint. Zev on the other hand, have claimed that he used a washable ink like what he's been using to any of his performances around the world.

Here's one of the few paintings that is available at the Hongkong gallery.

Weekend In New England

Last night, while I was doing my reports and thinking on what tomorrow would bring, I turned my iPod into shuffle and the first track that plays on it is the Barry Manilow Medley from Regine Velasquez's concert.

I don't know why but it makes me feel sad... especially on the Weekend In New England part... it's the best version that I've ever heard... Wonderful arrangement... from then on, it keeps on playing on my iPod until the battery dies.

Exhausting Morning

Damn! I can't breathe... I went home right away after my first shift for this week... as soon as I arrived home, I took all my Lacoste shirts and went to the laundry area to wash it all off... by hand... yeah... all by myself... our helper was supposed to do it last Saturday but I decided to do it myself since I don't want anyone to touch my crocodile... don't get me wrong, they knew that my clothes were supposed to be hand washed but being a paranoid like myself, I pulled it out from the hamper and place it on a safe place where I can store it for a week...LOL

Anyhoo, I was so touched with my superiors and some of my colleagues that they are actually concern on my status in our team. They had an emergency meeting yesterday with our Senior Manager and they've discussed the common issues on why we can't hit the numbers. Our account is a technical support and sales combined. But in any account that includes selling, Sales is given much importance than Technical Expertise. I just wished that my team members would understand that importance of working hard and effort in achieving or attaining a certain goal.

So much for the work dilemma... I think I have to take a vacation... Don't you think?

Boring Life

It's Monday night and I'm bored as hell!

Yesterday, Sunday, after having lunch out my immediate family at Sentro 1771 in Greenbelt 3, Makati, I decided to go home with my dad instead of staying in the mall to watch Harry Potter and shop by myself. I don't know, I just suddenly don't feel like scanning the shelves and racks of the stores. I was supposed to buy something to wear next Sunday for the mini reunion with my high school friends. But, I just thought of just wear my old clothes instead.

Before I leave for Hongkong for my Birthday Holiday last July 11, I told my sister that we will dine out with my dad for my post birthday celebration. It was actually my birthday wish this year to celebrate my birthday with the people I love. Myself, My Family and My Friends... Although, the latter one has not happened yet, I'm still looking forward to gather all my high school friends for a mini get together.

Back to my boredom, since I was not able to do my regular duties as a responsible citizen of the Philippines yesterday, I planned to go out today to watch movie and my duty to shop but for some unavoidable circumstances, I woke up at around 1PM! I went out of my room and head to the kitchen to check what's on the menu. I grabbed some left over spaghetti and caldereta and headed to my room to eat (i'm not used of eating at the dining table). After bringing my dishes out, I laid back on my bed and started closing my eyes. The last thing I know is that it's already 8PM and I have to take a bath and eat dinner.

Oh I hate it! And now I'm just here in front of my Mac munching some Royce Potato Chip Chocolate.

Mac + Lacoste = Macoste

Here we go again...

After a long fury discussion with my former web host, I've finally decided to start a new saga. I know that everything has come to an end but I never thought that it would end like this, much worst that it just run for a year. Anyway, past is past and I am here for a fresh start.

Mac + Lacoste = Macoste... these are the two things that makes me smile... of course aside from travel, dining and shopping. I think Mac is the best operating system that has ever been developed and Lacoste has the best pique shirt that France has ever produced.

But who am I? What's my main purpose in Life? That's actually what I've been trying to answer for the past 10 plus years of my existence....

You can just call me Macappleboy, a simple guy in the Philippines who just don't know what he really wants in life. I am in search of true happiness, purpose in life, and what I can offer to the world. There's a lot of questions in my mind that I haven't found an answer yet.

In this journal, you'll find everything that caught my attention. Everything that makes me smile, cry, sad, pisses me and gives me such excitement. I hope you can walk along with me in finding the best things that life can offer... and give back...
